The Energy of Gratitude

...from my friend Patricia Painter at LivePassionately2day@yahoogroups.com
I have to share a story of gratitude and human love.

My husband and I were traveling yesterday and stopped at a fast food for breakfast. There was a woman in line with a present in her arms. I overheard the story and stopped to ask her because I felt it was so loving, sharing and caring. This woman had been at this fast food chain two days before and had forgotten her wallet. She had ordered her food and it was on the counter when she realized she was without money. The cashier behind the counter told her to not worry about it, she gave the woman the food and put her own money in.

The woman (who had forgotten her wallet) came back two days later not only
with the money but with a gift for the cashier. Both the cashier and the
woman who had forgotten her wallet showed great human kindness and love.

I am very grateful that I was a witness to this kindness and I wanted to share
it with you.

My Gratitude List 1/29/05

I'm grateful
for this challenging day;
for finding magnificent true stories that make me hold on to my values and feed my spirit;
for the love God keeps on giving me;
for meeting people whom i never thought would give/send me affection in anyway;
giving love and receiving its light and energy in return.

A Touching Story

I sat, with two friends,in the picture window of a quaint restaurant just off the corner of the town-square. The food and the company were both especially good that day. As we talked, my attention was drawn outside, across the street. There, walking into town was a man who appeared to be carrying all his worldly goods on his back. He was carrying, a well-worn sign that read, "I will work for food." My heart sank.
I brought him to the attention of my friends and noticed that others
around us had stopped eating to focus on him. Heads moved in a
mixture of sadness and disbelief. We continued with our meal, but
his image lingered in my mind. We finished our meal and went our
separate ways. I had errands to do and quickly set out to accomplish them.
I glanced toward the town square, looking somewhat halfheartedly for the
strange visitor.

I was fearful, knowing that seeing him again would call some
response. I drove through town and saw nothing of him. I made some
purchases at a store and got back in my car.
Deep within me, the Spirit of God kept speaking to me: "Don't go
back to the office until you've at least driven once more around the
square." Then with some hesitancy, I headed back into town. As I
turned the square's third corner. I saw him. He was standing on the
steps of the store front church, going through his sack. I stopped and
looked;
Feeling both compelled to speak to him, yet wanting to drive on. The empty
parking space on the corner seemed to be a sign from God:an
invitation to park. I pulled in, got out and approached the town's newest
visitor.

"Looking for the pastor?" I asked. "Not really," he replied, "just
resting." "Have you eaten today?" "Oh, I ate something early this
morning."

"Would you like to have lunch with me?"
"Do you have some work I could do for you?"
"No work," I replied. "I commute here to work from the city, but I
would like to take you to lunch." "Sure," he replied with a smile.
As he began to gather his things, I asked some surface questions.
"Where you headed?" "St. Louis."
"Where you from?"
"Oh, all over; mostly Florida."
"How long you been walking?"
"Fourteen years," came the reply.
I knew I had met someone unusual. We sat across from each other in
the same restaurant I had left earlier. His face was weathered slightly
beyond his 38 years. His eyes were dark yet clear, and he spoke with an
eloquence and articulation that was startling. He removed his jacket to
reveal a bright red T-shirt that said, "Jesus is The Never Ending
Story."
Then Daniel's story began to unfold. He had seen rough times early
in life. He'd made some wrong choices and reaped the consequences.
Fourteen years earlier, while backpacking across the country, he had
stopped on the beach in Daytona. He tried to hire on with some men
who were putting up a large tent and some equipment. A concert, he
thought. He was hired, but the tent would not house a concert but revival
services,
And in those services he saw life more clearly. He gave his life over to
God.

"Nothing's been the same since," he said, " I felt the Lord telling
me to keep walking, and so I did, some 14 years now." "Ever think of
stopping?" I asked. "Oh, once in a while, when it seems to get the
best of me. But God has given me this calling. I give out Bibles.
That's what's in my sack. I work to buy food and Bibles, and I give
them out when His Spirit
leads."
I sat amazed. My homeless friend was not homeless. He was on a
mission and lived this way by choice. The question burned inside for
a moment and then I asked: "What's it like?"
"What?"
"To walk into a town carrying all your things on your back and to show
your sign?"
"Oh, it was humiliating at first. People would stare and make
comments. Once someone tossed a piece of half-eaten bread and made a
gesture that certainly didn't make me feel welcome. But then it
became humbling to realize that God was using me to touch lives and
change people's concepts of other folks like me." My concept was
changing, too. We finished our dessert and gathered his things. Just
outside the door, he paused. He turned to me and said,
"Come Ye blessed of my Father and inherit the kingdom I've prepared
for you. For when I was hungry you gave me food, when I was thirsty
you gave me drink, a stranger and you took me in."

I felt as if we were on holy ground. "Could you use another Bible?"
I asked. He said he preferred a certain translation. It traveled
well and was not too heavy. It was also his personal favorite. "I've
read through it 14 times," he said. "I'm not sure we've got one of
those, but let's stop by our church and see.
" I was able to find my new friend a Bible that would do well, and
he seemed very grateful. "Where are you headed from here?" I asked.
"Well, I found this little map on the back of this amusement park coupon."
"Are you hoping to hire on there for awhile?"
"No, I just figure I should go there.
I figure someone under that star right there needs a Bible, so
that's where I'm going next."

He smiled, and the warmth of his spirit radiated the sincerity of
his mission. I drove him back to the town-square where we'd met two
hours earlier, and as we drove, it started raining. We parked and
unloaded his things. "Would you sign my autograph book?" he asked.
"I like to keep messages from folks I meet."
I wrote in his little book that his commitment to his calling had
Touched My life. I encouraged him to stay strong. And I left him with a
verse of scripture from Jeremiah, "I know the plans I have for
you,"declared the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you.
Plans to give you a Future and a hope."

"Thanks, man," he said. "I know we just met and we're really just
strangers, but I love you." "I know," I said, "I love you, too."
"The Lord is good!" "Yes, He is. How long has it been since someone
hugged you?" I asked. "A long time," he replied. And so on the busy
street corner in the drizzling rain, my new friend and I embraced,
and I felt deep inside that I had been changed.
He put his things on his back, smiled his winning smile and said, "See you
in the New Jerusalem." "I'll be there!" was my reply.
He began his journey again. He headed away with his sign dangling
from his bedroll and pack of Bibles. He stopped, turned and said, "When
you see something that makes you think of me, will you pray for me?"
"You bet," I shouted back, "God bless." "God bless." And that was
the last I saw of him. Late that evening as I left my office, the
wind blew strong. The cold front had settled hard upon the town. I
bundled up and hurried to my car.
As I sat back and reached for the emergency brake, I saw them... a
pair of well-worn brown work gloves neatly laid over the length of the
handle. I picked them up and thought of my friend and wondered if his
hands would stay warm that night without them.
Then I remembered his words: "If you see something that makes you
think of me, will you pray for me?"

Today his gloves lie on my desk in my office. They help me to see
the world and its people in a new way, and they help me remember
those two hours with my unique friend and to pray for his ministry.
"See you in the New Jerusalem," he said. Yes, Daniel, I know I
will...

If this story touched you, forward it to a friend!
"I shall pass this way but once. Therefore, any good that I can do
or any kindness that I can show, let me do it now, for I shall not
pass this way again." My instructions were to send this to four
people that I wanted God to bless and I picked you. Please pass this
to four people you want to be blessed.

This prayer is powerful and there is nothing attached. Please do not
break this pattern. Prayer is one of the best gifts we receive.
There isno cost but a lot of rewards. Let's continue to pray for one
another. God bless and have a nice day!
"Father, I ask you to bless my friends, relatives and e-mail buddies
reading this right now. Show them a new revelation of your love and
power.

Holy Spirit, I ask you to minister to their spirit at this very
moment. Where there is pain, give them your peace and mercy. Where
there is self-doubt, release a renewed confidence through your
grace, In Jesus' precious Name. Amen."

I sent this to more than four, but this story is so touching I felt
each of you would enjoy it greatly.

GOD BLESS YOU MY FRIEND

THE LAST SECRET OF FATIMA

My cousin, Ate Betty Zolina in Canada send me this in e-mail.

Independent of any creed or Religion, it is better to be prepared and be in good Terms with GOD, though we never know when we will be leaving this world
....THE LAST SECRET OF FATIMA.

The Church has given permission to reveal to the people the last part of the message. The Blessed Virgin Appeared to three children in Fatima, Portugal in 1917. This is a proven fact.

One of these children is still alive, her name is Lucia and she is a Recluse nun and lives in a European monastery. Lucia disclosed the message for the first time to Pope Pio XXII, who after reading it sealed and stored it away without making it public. Later John XXIII read it and in the same manner as his predecessor, kept it out of public eye because he knew that once revealed, it will bring desperation and panic to the human kind. Now the time has come and permission has been granted from Pope John Paul II to reveal it to the children of God in order not to create panic, but to make people aware of this important message so everybody can be prepared. The Virgin told Lucia: "Go my child and tell the world what will come to pass during the years 1950-2005. Men are not practicing the commandments that our Father has given us. Evil is governing the world and is harvesting hate and resentment all over. Men will fabricate mortal weapons that destroy the world in minutes and half of the human race will be destroyed. The war will begin against Rome and there will be conflicts
amongst religious orders. "God will allow all natural phenomenons like smoke, hale,
cold, water, fire, flood, earthquakes, winds and inclement weather will
slowly batter the planet. These things will come to pass in the year 2004. Those
who do not believe, this is the time your beloved mother tells you those lacking
charity towards others and those who do not love thy neighbour like my beloved Son has loved you all, cannot survive. They will wish they had died. Millions are imaginable, they will come and there is no doubt. Our Lord God will punish severely those who do not believe in Him, those who despise Him and those who did not have time for Him. I call upon all of you to come to my son Jesus Christ. God helps the world but all of
those who do not show fidelity and loyalty will be destroyed. Father Agustin who lives in Fatima said that Pope Paul VI gave him permission to visit Sister Lucia who is a recluse nun (she does not leave the monastery nor allowed to receive any (visitors). Father Agustin said that she was greatly overwhelmed to receive him and told him:

"Father, our Lady is very sad because nobody is interested in her prophecy of 1917, though the righteous are walking through a narrow path, the evil ones are walking through an ample road that is leading them straight to their destruction. Believe me father, the punishment will come very soon. Many souls will be lost, many nations will disappear from the earth, but in the middle of all these, if men reflect, pray and practice good deeds, the world can be saved. On all of these, if men persist with its evil, the world will be lost forever. The time has come for all to pass on the message of our Blessed Lady to their families, friends and to the entire world. Start praying to make penitence and catastrophes are near. Due to this, many who were far from the church will return to the open arms of the Catholic Church. England, Russia, China, the Jews and Protestants, all will return believing and Worshipping God our Creator, in his beloved son and in our Blessed Mother Virgin Mary "WHAT AWAITS US?

Everywhere there will be "Peace Talks" but punishments will come. A MAN IN A VERY IMPORTANT POSITION WILL BE ASSASSINATED AND THIS WILL PROVOKE THE WAR. A POWERFUL ARMY WILL DOMINATE ALL THROUGH EUROPE AND THE NUCLEAR WAR WILL COMMENCE.

This war will destroy everything. Darkness will fall over us. For 72 (hours three days) and the one third of humanity that survives this obscurity and sacrifice will commence to live a new era, they will be good people. In a very cold night, 10 minutes before midnight, A GREAT QUAKE will shake the earth for 8 hours. This will be the third Signal that God is who governs the earth. The righteous and those who propagate the faith and the message the Lady of Fatima SHOULD NOT FEAR, DO NOT BE AFRAID. WHAT TO DO?????

Bow your heads kneel down and ask God for forgiveness because only what is good And is not under the power of evil will survive the catastrophe. In order for you to prepare and remain alive I will give you the following signs: ANGUISH .......... AND IN A
SHORT PERIOD THE EARTHQUAKE WILL COMMENCE ..... THE EARTH WILL SHAKE .....

The shake will be so violent that it will move the earth 23 degrees then return to its normal position. Then total and absolute darkness will cover the entire planet .....All evil spirits will be mingling around and free, doing harm to all those souls that did not want to listen to this messageand those who did not want to repent. To the faithful souls, remember to light the blessed candles. Prepare a Sacred altar with a crucifix in order to communicate with GOD and implore for his infinite mercy.... All will be dark; IN THE SKY A GREAT MYSTIC CROSS will appear to remind us the price that his beloved Son had to pay for our Redemption . In the
house the only thing that can give light will be the HOLY CANDLES . Once lit nothing will put them off until the three days of darkness are over. Also you should have Holy Water that should be sprinkled abundantly on windows and doors. The Lord will protect the property of the chosen ones. Kneel down before the powerful cross of my Beloved son, pray the Rosary and after each Hail Mary, you must pray the following "Oh God forgive us our sins. Preserve us from the fire of hell, take all souls into Heaven, especially those who are in more need of thy mercy. Blessed Virgin Mary, protect us, we love you, save us and save the
world.

"Pray 5 Creeds and the rosary which is the secret to my Immaculate Heart. All those who believe in my words, go and take the message to everyone.
DO NOT FEAR FEAR NOTHING is time, those who keep quiet will be Responsible for all those souls who will perish in ignorance. All those who pray humbly the Rosary will have the protection of Heaven and those who are bound to die, I will help them die in peace and they will be Holy when they enter the other world, I wish all my children to attend mass every first Friday and every first Saturday of each month to confess and receive Holy Communion and in doing so, save the world from TOTAL DESTRUCTION .... WHEN the earth shakes no more, those who still will not believe in our Lord will perish in a horrible way. The wind will bring gas and it will disperse
everywhere then the sun will rise. May be you will survive this catastrophe. Do not
forget that God's punishment is Holy and ONCE IT HAS STARTED YOU SHOULD NOT LOOK OUTSIDE, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, GOD DOES NOT WANT ANY OF HIS CHILDREN TO SEE WHEN HE PUNISHES THE SINNERS . All this encompasses with the writings of the Holy Scriptures ... Read in the New Testament Lucas 21-5; 121, 12:19,20: 20, 29:33 Letters of St. Paul 3-8-14 Isaiah 40, 1:5:9 You must understand that God allows all these to happen. The Pope and Bishops are now awaiting another message that speaks about repentance and prayer. Remember that God's words are not a threat, but good news. Please reproduce these pages and send them to all the people that you know so we all can have the opportunity to repent and be saved. We do not know it those receiving this message believe or not in GOD, but think, there is a reason for receiving this message! May be, the Creator is giving us the chance to be saved, no matter what religion or Creed. It you do not believe in this message atleast send it to others, it will cost you nothing. To all those receiving it, they can have the opportunity to judge for themselves. Remember, we can avoid a great deal if we practice the 10 Commandments that Our Father God has left us. They are just 10 simple things that if we put into practice, we can obtain God's pardon. Jesus in you I trust. Our Lady of Guadalupe. Did you know that Vasula Ryden said something about the towers in NY last September 11, 1991? Christina Gallagher also said something last September 11, 1999? Something to the effect that America will be destroyed if they do not turn to Prayers. And do you remember the fluvial Marian procession spearheaded by Filipinos, the group of June Keithley, Lydia Sison, etc. and participated in by many countries was held in NY also last September 11, 1999 for the Lady of all Nations? They are asking for Prayers, more Prayers, More Rosaries - because for one
thing accordingly, because of the uncertainty of the times and fear for the worse due to the war more women (esp in NY) are resorting to abortion and they are being Helped or encouraged even more. Despite the prevalence already before, now it has increased due to panic. We are asked to pray unceasingly for them all. Also, this prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe is very fitting. After all, she is the patroness of America and also of Pro-life. This is a beautiful prayer. Please do not break this chain... it is miraculous. for something! Letter to the Virgin of uadalupe "Beautiful Virgin of Guadalupe, I ask you on behalf of all my brothers and sisters of the world that you bless us and protect us. Give us proof of your love and kindness and please receive our prayers. Oh pure Virgin of Guadalupe, give me, through your Son, forgiveness for my sins, blessings for my job, cure for my diseases and needs, and all that you deem necessary, I ask for my family and my country. Oh Saint Mother of God, do not disdain the pleas we present to you in our needs.

"Dear Brothers and sisters, I want to impart to you the presence of
the Virgin of Guadalupe. And that she is miraculous and is always with us
wherever we go. This letter has the objective to go around the world
to receive miracles with this beautiful chain. Try to make 19 copies and
share it during the following ten days and in return you will receive
a proof from the Virgin no matter how impossible it is.

Joke, joke, joke!!!

Evils Of Alcohol
-----------------

A father was trying to teach his young son the evils of alcohol.

He put one worm in a glass of water and another worm in a glass of
whiskey. The worm in the water lived, while the one in the whiskey
curled up and died.

"All right, son," asked the father, "what does that show you?"

"Well, Dad, it shows that if you drink alcohol, you will not have
worms."

The Natural and the Supernatural

Got to save this here...i like this. It tickles me somehow and nourished me on the matter too. Got this from Peter Shepherd's newsletter where I'm a subscriber.

The Natural and the Supernatural

Moses, Jesus and a bearded little old man play golf.
Moses takes his club and with an elegant swing sends off the ball. It goes up in the air with a superb parabolic movement and falls directly... into the lake! Moses is not at all disturbed, he raises his club and at this moment the water opens up, leaving him a passage through which to make his next strike.
It is now the turn of Jesus. He takes his club and with perfect panache he sends the ball toward... the lake, where it falls on a large water lily. Unperturbed, Jesus starts to walk over the water to the ball, and from there he makes his next strike.
The little old man takes his club and, with a total lack of style as if he had never played golf in his life, he sends the ball flying off toward a tree. The ball rebounds on the trunk then again on a branch. From there, it falls on the roof of a house, rolls into the gutter, descends the drain-pipe, and falls into the sewer from where it is travels through a channel into... the lake. But after arriving in the lake it rebounds on a stone and bounces finally onto the bank where it stops. A large frog which was sitting just at that place swallows it. And suddenly, in the sky, a sparrow-hawk descends on the frog and grabs it, including of course, the ball. The bird flies above the golf course, and the frog, becoming giddy, ends up vomiting the ball... which falls perfectly in the hole!
Moses turns then to Jesus and says to him: "You know, I just hate playing with your father!"

Commentary by Serge Carfantan:
We notice that Moses and Jesus, to manage to place their ball, must make a miracle: to open the waters or to walk on the water. They thus call upon the supernatural to carry out the possible, to place the golf ball. Funnily enough, it is God (the little old man) who - even though he is hopelessly unskilled - manages by a series of coincidences to direct the ball so that it naturally goes where it must go. The least supernatural is God!
That can help us reflect a little. We need the supernatural to believe ("Go! Make us a miracle and we will have the faith!!") and we do not see the extraordinary natural deployment of the miracle of Life. Nature evolves and spreads naturally in a perpetual demonstration, but because it is natural, we do not pay we attention to this process.
Which is the truest viewpoint? To believe in the supernatural, with the mystery of beyond? Or to distinguish in the here-and-now, in nature, the presence of a creative intelligence - to be filled with wonder at that which is only natural?

Prayer for you and me

PRAY THIS EVEN IF YOU DON'T FEEL LIKE IT!!

You never know when GOD is going to bless you!!Good things happen when you least expect them to !!!

Dear Lord, I thank You for this day. I thank You for my being able to see and to hear this morning. I'm blessed because You are a forgiving God and an understanding God. You have done so much for me and You keep on blessing me. Forgive me this day for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you. I ask now for Your forgiveness.

Please keep me safe from all danger and harm. Help me to start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best of each and every day to clear my mind so that I can hear from You. Please broaden my mind that I can accept all things. Let me not whine and whimper over things I have no control over. And it's the best response when I'm pushed beyond my limits. I know that when I can't pray, You listen to
my heart.

Continue to use me to do Your will. Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others. Keep me strong that I may help the weak... Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others. I pray for those that are lost and can't find their way. I pray for those that are misjudged and misunderstood. I pray for those who don't know You
intimately.

I pray for those that don't believe. But I thank you that I believe. I believe that God changes people and God changes things. I pray for all my sisters and brothers. For each and every family member in their households.

I pray for peace, love and joy in their homes that they are out of debt and all their needs are met. I pray that every eye that reads this knows there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than God. Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight. I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every eye that sees it.

Just repeat this phrase and see how God moves!!

God I love you and I need you, come into my heart, please.

God Loves US Beacuase...

This article of Jim Rohn had really touch me so much.

Now I understand why God loves the human race so much. Because he knows that love and compassion to one another he had planted in man's heart will always surfaced and be the source of strength to triump in times of tremendous sufferings caused by unthinkable tragedies.

Hopes in the Midst of Tragedy?

by Jim Rohn

Tsunami. A single word spoken almost in unison by the entire world over recent days. We've all learned it's meaning, it's impact, it's devastation. Tsunami a wave of tragedy, a wave of despair... And yet in the midst, I am struck by something that seems to be ever-present and never-ending wherever and whenever the human race is faced with tragedy. I think it can be summed up in a single, simple phrase... "Hope springs eternal."

What do I mean? Almost immediately springing from the stories of tragedy, we begin to hear of miraculous moments, of kindness, compassion, empathy and of evidence of the resiliency of the human spirit. Let me expound... Much was made about the initial lack of monetary support from the U.S. to help the countries hit by the tsunami. But what has been missing are the reports of hundreds of millions of dollars being sent by individuals, concerted efforts of companies and groups throughout the U.S. and the world. In a moment, the world unites and with one gentle, generous hand reaches out to touch those who have been hurt by this devastation.

Kindness is being demonstrated by tens of millions worldwide who see the catastrophe and whose hearts are touched and then act in kindness by sending their money to relief agencies that can make a difference. We even see and hear of people from all over the world packing their bags and heading to the troubled spots to help. Here unusual kindness and compassion springs forth from tragedy.

The strength of the human spirit is demonstrated in a profound way when viewed through tragedy. I am amazed when I hear the stories of human triumph that come from this tsunami. Amazing stories of the will to survive and the will to help others survive. Stories that quite literally make your eyes tear up as you watch the images of people who have been faced with the horrific power of nature unleashed, who have faced death and not only overcome, but helped others do the same. In tragedy we see the strength of the human spirit as we face seemingly overwhelming circumstances and odds.

And hope, that eternal flame that refuses to be extinguished. We find that so many times hope is born in or made stronger through tragedy. Without tragedy, would there be a need for hope? I believe one of the miracles we will see is people of all nations banding together to triumph and restore people who have lost so much. In light of all of the war and conflict that rages around the globe, this is one candle that will burn brightly - people of all different backgrounds, races, nationalities, and religions brought together with a common purpose to survive and triumph - all because of tragedy. Ideas for new technology have come and will continue to come from this. Now there will be more focus and funding put toward early warning systems that will make it less likely that this kind of disaster will have such a terrible effect in the future.

Despite the tragedies that occur, we can be touched and inspired by the acts of kindness born out of these circumstances that bond the human race together, show the strength of the human spirit and give hope of better things to come. Although we are never glad when tragedy visits, we can be aware and seize the opportunity to do good in this world, even in the midst of tragedy.

Yes, hope springs eternal and the will of the human spirit is a miracle. So as you see images on television or the newspapers in the coming weeks, ask yourself what good can spring from you because of it. And in doing so, you will help others, become better yourself, and fan the flames that keep hope burning with a warmth felt around the world.

Let's do something remarkable!
